Frost & Sullivan has bestowed the CEO of the Year Award upon Ed Whitacre as he has distinguished himself from his competitors by pursuing a unique restructuring that has resulted in propelling the company's market position. Perhaps the most significant single event driven by his leadership occurred last year, when SBC acquired AT&T.
