Brenntag Renews Agreement With AT&T
Frankfurt am Main, 9 September 2008 - AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced that Brenntag, a leading worldwide distribution partner of the chemical industry, has extended its agreement with AT&T to manage its IP-based Virtual Private Network (VPN). Under the three year agreement, AT&T will provide Brenntag’s operations with hosting services in Germany and France as well as network services to 49 locations in 23 countries in Europe and North America.
The AT&T hosting services allow for guarantee of high availability for network connections to Brenntag locations. Brenntag sites will be connected with the AT&T Internet Data Center (IDC) in Frankfurt am Main and Paris. Resilience and backup in case of service interruptions will be provided via ISDN.
Countries in which AT&T provides its network for Brenntag include Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, UK and the USA. Decisive factors for the renewal of the agreement were AT&T high-performance Wide Area Network (WAN), excellent WAN services and high level of customer orientation.
"Built on our existing relationship with AT&T it was an easy decision for us to hand over responsibility for our worldwide corporate network to AT&T again," says Karl-Heinz Frind, Manager IT at Brenntag. "Over the last three years AT&T has demonstrated to its ability to deliver for us with its presence in all our target markets and through its flexible and reliable network services."
Brenntag first decided to use AT&T's network management services in December 2004. The original agreement included development of an IP-based VPN, network services in Europe and North America, as well as WAN and hosting services.
