Vice President, AT&T Technology and Operations
John R. Klebonis, Jr., Vice President, Public Sector Customer Service, leads a team of 500+ professionals who are responsible for the delivery, life-cycle management and customer care functions of core telecommunications services to Government Agencies and civilian organizations, such as the International Red Cross and U.S. Postal Service. John was appointed to his current position in June, 2015.
Mr. Klebonis’ twenty-five year career at AT&T spans positions of increasing responsibility in systems development, sales, marketing, product management, operations, customer service, business development and strategic planning.
In his previous role, he led the strategic transformation of the AT&T professional services division, successfully developed a growth engine for AT&T Global Business - Public Sector Solutions and incorporated network and mobility services into the Defense Segment umbrella. Under his leadership, Global Business - Public Sector Solutions was recognized for high quality policies and practices, receiving a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) Level 3 rating from the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of Carnegie Mellon University and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 certification for its quality management system. Prior to joining Global Business - Public Sector Solutions, Mr. Klebonis was Sales Center Vice President for Enterprise Sales – Mid-Atlantic region, where his organization supported over 300 large business customers in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Earlier postings include sales leadership roles in New York City as well as product management and marketing positions in New Jersey, where he developed integrated offers of voice and data services.
John has been active with Women in Technology as a speaker, judge and advocate for the past eight years. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the USO of Metro-Washington and on the Board of Advisors for the Air Force Association's CyberPatriot National Youth Cyber Education Program, which supports STEM education for high school and middle school students. His efforts with CyberPatriot recently earned him a CyberPatriot Order of Merit for facilitating growth in the program.
Mr. Klebonis is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in information systems from Salisbury State University in Maryland.
