AT&T Wins F. Dohmen Co. Networking Contract
GERMANTOWN, Wisc. – AT&T announced today it has won a three-year networking services contract from F. Dohmen Co., one of the nation’s oldest pharmaceutical suppliers and a leader in pharmacy technology. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
AT&T will provide an Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) solution, integrating F. Dohmen locations across the country. The VPN provides a standardized networking platform with increased bandwidth and secure, high-speed access to proprietary applications, company databases, e-mail and other operational functions. F. Dohmen’s data network supports an on-demand pharmaceutical distribution supply chain for more than 2,000 pharmacies in 25 states.
AT&T’s VPN enables the wholesaler to prioritize data traffic for key users and critical applications. The deal also sets the stage for implementing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services and other cost-saving technologies.
“AT&T offers us an integrated, cost-effective, scalable solution, with unquestionable reliability, just what our growing company needs,” said F. Dohmen Co.’s CIO Thomas Farrington. “Knowing that our data is secure enables us to focus on our mission of being a reliable supplier to independent pharmacists and helping them continue to thrive in today’s competitive marketplace.”
