Duane Morris Improves Collaboration And Business Continuity With AT&T Networking Services
PHILADELPHIA – Duane Morris LLP, one of the 100 largest law firms in the United States, has awarded AT&T a three-year, multimillion dollar contract for an Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) to integrate law offices across the United States and in the United Kingdom.
The advanced network will facilitate increased collaboration among Duane Morris employees regardless of geography, provide enhanced security of critical data and ensure around-the-clock availability of proprietary applications running on the network.
The network is based on multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) technology, a standardized protocol that enables any-to-any connectivity across a high performance, secure, shared infrastructure. It provides a converged data and voice networking environment, which also enables Duane Morris to deploy Voice over IP (VoIP) services.
The VPN is more flexible and resilient than the company’s former point-to-point solution, guaranteeing better reliability and enhancing Duane Morris’ disaster recovery capabilities. AT&T will also support Duane Morris’ disaster recovery plan by deploying AT&T ACCU-Ring® Network Access Service at corporate headquarters in Philadelphia.
“The network is proving to be incredibly reliable,” said John Sroka, CIO of Duane Morris. “Recently there was a cable cut near a Duane Morris office. Because we had AT&T’s networking services in place, we remained completely functional. Otherwise, we’d have experienced downtime, which would have negatively impacted that office and been difficult for our business.”
