First National Bank Of Omaha Banks On AT&T For A $9.9 Million Networking Solution
OMAHA, Neb. – AT&T today announced it has won a three-year, $9.9 million networking contract from First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO), becoming the bank’s designated networking services provider of choice.
FNBO is a division of First National of Nebraska Inc., one the nation’s leading independent banking institutions, and manages technology for First National’s family of banks across the Midwest. AT&T will provide an Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) solution that integrates more than 70 First National branches.
The high-speed networking solution enables the bank to provide more efficient teller transactions, faster loan processing and approvals, and improved branch-to-branch communications. It also gives bank employees secure, high-speed access to company information, proprietary applications and databases.
AT&T will integrate FNBO’s Omaha-area data center infrastructure with AT&T Ultravailable® Network Service, a custom high-availability service based on optical switching technology. It also enables FNBO to add new locations quickly and easily to accommodate growth, and supports the bank’s business continuity plan.
“First National’s rise to prominence as a leading banking institution continues to be driven by its well-established culture of providing personalized customer service,” said Ken Kucera, Senior Vice President and Division Head of First National Bank of Omaha. “We need reliable, fast access to time-sensitive information. Our customers and business depend on it. We’ve entrusted our network to AT&T because of its proven track record for network reliability and superior service and support.”
In addition to data services, the contract covers a full range of voice, Internet access and teleconference services.
