AT&T Receives Stratecast Partners Award For Managed Security Services
Stratecast identifies AT&T as “best positioned” network service provider in growing managed security services market
BEDMINSTER, N.J.— AT&T today announced that it has received the 2005 Best-in-Class Award for its comprehensive suite of managed security services from Stratecast Partners, a division of Frost & Sullivan.
As network service providers gain momentum in the managed security services market, Stratecast views AT&T “as best positioned to serve the broadest and largest number of customers and create strategic differentiation for the company.”
“We are honored to receive this recognition and distinction,” said Kathleen Flaherty, chief marketing officer at AT&T. “This is a testament to our ongoing commitment to give our business and government customers the most powerful tools to fight cyber attacks, and to manage and secure their increasingly complex networking infrastructures.”
Leveraging the security expertise and innovation engine of AT&T Labs, AT&T continues to set the bar in network security with numerous “firsts”:
• The first network-based
firewall, introduced in 2002;
• The first managed,
application firewall service, introduced in June 2003;
• The first network-based,
proactive cyberthreat alerting system, AT&T Internet
ProtectSM,
introduced in March 2004; and
• The first managed,
network-based DDoS mitigation capability, introduced in June 2004.
AT&T provides businesses and government agencies a comprehensive set of managed security services, including its flagship security service AT&T Internet ProtectSM, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, and token authentication. The company also provides a wide range of consulting and design services, such as risk analysis, vulnerability assessments and ethical hacking.
“This combination of breadth of services and innovation will serve the company well in attracting a wide and large range of customers,” said Michael Suby, senior research analyst at Stratecast Partners. “AT&T has one of the largest combinations of human and technical resources in place to deliver managed security services.”
