AT&T Awarded 'Best Technology Foresight' for its Innovative Internet Protect Product At World Communication Awards
London, UK - AT&T was awarded with 'Best Technology Foresight' for its Internet Protect product at this year's World Communication Awards, one of the most prestigious award programs in the industry, and sponsored by leading industry publication Total Telecom. The accolade was bestowed upon AT&T at the WCA Awards on October 11 in London.
Introduced earlier this year, AT&T's Internet Protect is a breakthrough security alerting and notification service that offers advanced information regarding potential real-time attacks (viruses, worms and DDOS attacks) that are in the early formulation stages. By utilizing AT&T's IP backbone as a proxy of general Internet traffic, analyzing IP backbone traffic and utilizing heuristics and statistical models, Internet Protect can predict and profile potential malicious activity.
AT&T was chosen among a field of more than 25 entrants for Best Technology Foresight. The category was open to all fixed and mobile operators and service providers, as well as equipment vendors and developers of software solutions. AT&T received the award because its foresight in developing a technology which improves communications services via carrier networks and because of Internet Protect's far reaching impact on business markets.
According to judging panel, AT&T's Internet Protect product represents the best of innovative approaches to an existing aspect of security technology and is a "clear example of how best to make technology work for the benefit of the end user."
