AT&T Wins $1 Million Networking Contract From University Of Miami
MIAMI -- AT&T announced today it has won a $1 million networking contract from the University of Miami, a leading educational institution.
The two-year contract renews and expands a long-standing relationship between AT&T and the university. AT&T will provide local, long-distance, international, toll-free, teleconference and private-line services.
The AT&T solution includes high-speed data and videoconference services linking the university's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute locations in Miami and Naples, Fla. The videoconference capabilities will allow doctors to observe procedures from remote locations. The University of Miami is dedicated to excellence, and efforts on many fronts have been recognized. The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute has just been named #1 in the United States by U.S. News and World Report magazine.
The services support University of Miami's goal to operate with greater efficiency, reduce communications costs and consolidate network services.
"Network reliability was an important factor in choosing AT&T," said Lew Temares, CIO and dean of school of Engineering at University of Miami. "Working with one vendor and reducing costs were important considerations as well. Here at the University of Miami we set our goals at the highest level and our industry partners must meet and exceed our expectations. We are delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with AT&T and anticipate working together to continue improving our service to our customers here at the university."
Services are provided through AT&T OneNet® Service, which bundles a custom solution of voice, data and Internet Protocol services into one contract.
In addition, through the award-winning secure AT&T Business Direct® portal, the university gains online access to tools that provide real-time reports on network performance and direct access to AT&T's ordering, status, account management, and billing and payment systems.
