2004 Q2—Pompano Beach, Florida

AT&T's Network Disaster Recovery Team conducted its second quarter 2004 exercise in Pompano Beach, Florida between April 30 and May 5, 2004. The exercise simulated the recovery of a large AT&T Network office and included over twenty-five technology and support trailers. Eighty-five NDR Operations Team members from across the United States participated in the drill, including SMEs, network technicians, and NDR staff.
The exercise gave the team opportunities to train with some of NDR's newest equipment (CNI Hub and IP trailers) and to develop new team leaders in all of the construction and technology processes. All of the technology teams were able to successfully complete turn-up and call path testing through the trailer compound at the site.
The team hosted structured tours for customers and employees on May 3 and May 4. The site also hosted visits from local EMS organizations, including the Florida Fire Chief's Association, and was the stage for check presentations to the Florida Fire and Emergency Services Foundation / Urban Search and Rescue Team and to Télécoms sans Frontières TSFI.
