FMC Corporation Extends Contract with AT&T for Global Networking and Hosting Services
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, August 29, 2007
AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) has announced that FMC Corporation (NYSE: FMC), a Philadelphia-based multinational chemical company that serves the agricultural, industrial and consumer markets, signed a two-year contract extension for networking and hosting services. AT&T will continue to manage and build network solutions to support 45 FMC facilities in the United States, Canada, Central America and Asia.
A team of AT&T Integration Solutions specialists works closely with FMC to maintain a seamless global network that supports voice, data and Internet Protocol applications. Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology provides each FMC location with direct connectivity to all other company locations. At the same time, remote Virtual Private Network (VPN) dial-in capabilities allow FMC employees to connect to the company's global network from off-site locations with increased efficiency and reliability.
Additionally, FMC hosts business applications at two of AT&T's climate controlled Internet Data Centers (IDCs). Each IDC is shielded from intrusion and failure by multilayered security, diversity measures and rapid response recovery measures.
"AT&T offered us the most comprehensive networking solution with the capability to manage both domestic and international sites on the network," said Frank Gregg, director of technical infrastructure operations and security for FMC Corp. "The scalability and security features of AT&T's global network were highly impressive. We are confident that AT&T has the technical infrastructure and consulting expertise to support our ever growing and evolving telecommunications needs."
Through the reliable AT&T BusinessDirect® portal, FMC has online access to tools that provide near real-time reports on network performance and direct access to billing, ordering, inventory and trouble-management systems. In the 2007 Yankee Group survey of leading carriers that provide wired and wireless services, AT&T BusinessDirect portal was ranked as the best e-portal in service categories deemed important to enterprise customers.
