Overview:
With reduced budgets and sustainable IT goals, federal agencies need to use technologies that can lower expenses, reduce their travel-related carbon footprint, and improve their employees’ productivity.
One way to achieve these goals is to use the AT&T Telepresence Solution® to transform the way your agency communicates and collaborates.
With AT&T Telepresence Solution, government employees can reduce the time, costs and carbon emissions associated with travel. With the ability to connect to telepresence rooms around the globe, this solution delivers an "in-person" meeting experience that allows you to share ideas and have an interactive, open dialogue in real-time with employees, suppliers and stakeholders in multiple locations around the United States.
Improve Collaboration
This high definition video-conferencing tool is as simple to launch as a conference call and can be as effective as having a face-to-face meeting. Using 1080p high-definition video that displays people at their actual-size, the spatial audio feature allows everyone to know who’s speaking. AT&T Telepresence Solution allows you to connect multiple sites, whether intra-agency or agency-to-agency, to help you conduct:
- Virtual meetings;
- Interviews;
- Service calls;
- Presentations;
- Demonstrations; or
- Consultations.
Connect Government-to-Industry
Agencies can collaborate with over 100 companies and organizations connected to the AT&T Business Exchange and connect to over 2,000 telepresence rooms including public telepresence studios at select Marriott locations via Virtual Meetings by Marriott with AT&T and Cisco TelePresence. The AT&T Business Exchange is a network-based "meet-me" bridging capability at the heart of this fully managed, scalable service, which is supported by the reliability and security features of the AT&T global network.
Reduce Travel Related Carbon Emissions
Since telepresence gives user the choice to avoid or reduce travel it, will help agencies comply with Executive Order 13514: Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy, and Economic Performance, which requires agencies to increase energy efficiency and to measure, report, and reduce agency greenhouse gas emissions from direct and indirect activities.
As detailed in the 2010 study “The Telepresence Revolution,” replacing some travel with telepresence can result in significant global environmental and financial benefits for organizations that deploy telepresence. Specifically, large U.S. and U.K. businesses can cut CO2 emissions by nearly 5.5 million metric tons in total – the greenhouse gas equivalent of removing more than one million passenger vehicles from the road for one year – and achieve total economy-wide financial benefits of almost $19 billion, by 2020.
Working with the General Services Administration (GSA), AT&T will install 15 telepresence rooms across the United States in the 11 GSA regional headquarters and 4 Washington, D.C. area locations. GSA Telepresence rooms will be available to other federal agencies on a pay-per-use basis.
In addition, agencies can purchase their own telepresence service through GSA’s Networx contract. The AT&T Telepresence Solution can be supported in 75 countries and territories. Additional countries are planned for the future. We offer a full range of management options in 38 countries including Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Slovak Republic, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, and Venezuela.
