High-priority wireless calls go through more quickly during emergency situations. AT&T Wireless Priority Service (WPS) gives mission-critical calls priority in heightened network traffic. AT&T was one of the first carriers to implement WPS.
How it Works
Register your phone or account number with NCS (www.wps.ncs.gov) to be eligible for AT&T Wireless Priority Service. Then add it as a feature for your approved personnel. In emergency situations, authorized users can dial *272 plus their destination number; their call will be flagged for priority treatment over the next available channel.
