AT&T GOVERNMENT SOLUTIONS SECURES IRS CONTRACT TO PROVIDE IP TELEPHONY SOLUTION

VIENNA, Va., May 9, 2006 — AT&T Government Solutions has been awarded a delivery orderby the Internal Revenue Service to provide a Cisco-based IP Telephony solution for packetized voice communications at 52 IRS locations throughout the country. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Under the terms of the contract, AT&T Government Solutions will provide the IRS with a customized solution to meet their unique network requirements . AT&T Government Solutions will provide a comprehensive set of products and services that includes site survey, wire plant upgrade, IP telephony platform, engineering services, program management and training.

“IP telephony has helped federal agencies reduce their costs, achieve greater efficiencies and increase their productivity through converged communications architecture,” said Don Herring, president of AT&T Government Solutions. “AT&T Government Solutions is delighted to help the IRS use IP telephony to meet its business and technological challenges.

Among its other programs with the IRS, AT&T Government Solutions also manages the IRS Enterprise Remote Access Project (ERAP), which supports its telework initiative. AT&T recently designed and implemented the ERAP for the IRS based on a fully managed AT&T virtual private network solution. The ERAP initiative provides IRS offices and audit sites with connectivity to applications and resources located at IRS data centers. Today, more than 26,000 IRS employees use the ERAP for remote data communications.
