Layer 2 VPN

  • Layer 2 VPN Services (L2VPNS) connect an agency’s multiple sites in a single bridged domain over our managed MPLS core network, regardless of the access network type.  The service supports wide area Ethernet transport in accordance with the Networx requirements.  Agencies will be able to acquire point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and multipoint-to-multipoint Ethernet services over a common infrastructure.

  • Two L2VPNS options are available: Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) and Virtual Private Wire Service (VPWS). VPLS allows agencies to extend their Ethernet or any LAN securely throughout the entire WAN. VPWS provides point-to-point connectivity (virtual connections) across the our network.

  • L2VPNS is an optional service offering in both the Universal and Enterprise contracts.
