Shrinking budgets make it difficult for many schools to access technologies that help maximize student achievement, keep schools safe, get parents involved, and keep staff’s credentials current. With the E-rate Program, you may be able to obtain affordable access to advance telecommunication services.

AT&T provides a complete range of E-rate eligible services including voice, data, network, wireless, Internet, video and more to meet your needs. We can help you understand the E-rate program and how to maximize your benefits.

What is the E-Rate Program?

E-rate is a federal program that provides eligible schools and libraries discounts of 20 – 90% on eligible telecommunications services. The E-rate program is administered by the Schools and Libraries Division (SLD) of the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC). The program was created as part of the Federal Telecommunication Act of 1996 to ensure that all eligible schools and libraries have affordable access to modern telecommunications and information services

How can I use E-rate funding?

During challenging times, the educational and technology budgets come under immense pressure. E-rate funds can help pay for some of the expenses in the following areas:

  • Telecommunications – Most studies show one of the most prominent factors in approved student achievement is improved parental involvement. This involvement begins with a strong parent to teacher communications using tools like voice communications, voice mail, or messsaging.
  • Internet Acccess – The Internet opens the classroom to a wealth of content to engage the student. The power of video conferencing to bring in new topics or collabration from around the world can make the classroom an exciting place to be.
  • Infrastructure – E-rate funds can be used to eliminate the structural barriers by building the pathways to extend the connectivity down to every classroom.

Visit the Schools and Libraries Division website for a complete list of E-rate eligible services, funding schedule, and the latest updates on the program.
