IT Strategy and Roadmap

The IT Strategy and Roadmap offering provides a comprehensive enterprise-wide strategy and assessment focused on sourcing directions and alternatives, and corresponding delivery mechanisms. Included are business case development when needed, and a phased deployment roadmap encompassing key IT process areas and technology disciplines. The intended result for the strategic plan is to provide a comprehensive blueprint for the period of time as defined by your organization’s planning process. The deliverable will address the IT priorities, as defined by the alignment of IT to the business units. Key business unit interviews and business validation are part of our discovery approach. AT&T Consulting will map those into IT strategies and develop strategic plans to execute against. Undergirding technologies will be evaluated where needed, and alternatives recommended which align with business and IT strategies. The accompanying roadmap will outline the phases for service & solution identification, selection, and proof of concept implementation.

Operational Framework Maturity Assessment

AT&T Consulting offers this process and operational maturity assessment, utilizing both the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) V3 framework, as well as the Control Objectives for Information and related Technology (COBIT) maturity measurement tools. Activities include the assessment of current service management and service portfolio processes for efficiency and maturity. The assessment characterizes the current state of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes within the organization, locations for the IT services domains, and documents the strengths, weaknesses, and process improvement opportunities. Deliverables include the development of an IT service management strategy and roadmap.

Framework Development

Usually following a Maturity Assessment, AT&T Consulting can continue and develop a customized and prioritized ITIL-based process framework, focusing on key process gap areas identified earlier.  The AT&T Consulting approach is to "right size" ITIL, leveraging existing processes, identifying gaps and priorities, and developing a pragmatic, phased implementation plan to enhance those processes with best practices. Typically this effort begins with the strategic activity of developing or enhancing the Service Catalog. During that activity, key applications and business processes are discovered and prioritized for review. AT&T Consulting will review or define specific SLAs, and assess the underpinning IT structure’s ability to support the established services. Operating Level Agreements (OLAs) are reviewed, and if not present, can be developed in order to establish a reliable operational support model. The end result includes fully developed, tested, and implemented process areas.
