Formica Corporation Selects AT&T's Managed Integrated Voice and Data Solutions for its American and Canadian Locations
International Surfacing Company Enhances Efficiency and Reliability With Single Network Services Provider
CINCINNATI, Nov. 12, 2007 - AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has announced a new three-year $1.4 million contract to provide managed network solutions to Formica Corporation's North American and European operations. A global business leader in the surfacing materials industry, Formica Corporation has nearly 100 years of experience in developing and distributing laminate, metal, stone, veneer and other surface solutions throughout Asia, Europe and North America.
Under the agreement, AT&T will provide its Virtual Private Network (VPN) and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) services to Formica Corporation's operations in Canada and the U.S. A long-standing client of network services in Europe, Formica Corporation's extension of its relationship with AT&T will increase its network efficiency and reliability among the company's manufacturing and distribution centers across the world.
As businesses become more reliant on Internet and private networks, AT&T's MPLS platform also provides Formica Corporation with seamless, high speed connectivity among its offices and enhanced disaster-recovery capabilities among the company's data centers in the U.K. and U.S.
In addition, Formica Corporation's network platform in the U.S. enables the use of AT&T Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services. The next generation of converged communications services, VoIP will control Formica Corporation's operational expenses through an efficient unified network with high-quality voice communications connecting more than 3,800 manufacturing, sales and distribution employees.
