The Gartner Magic Quadrant report is a guide for companies to identify and evaluate vendors that deliver IT services in support of connectivity and communications infrastructure - for example, Internet Protocol telephony hardware and software. According to a study recently released by the firm, the AT&T Onward Small Biz Web site (www.att.com/OnwardSmallBiz) stood out from the competition as the top resource among telecommunications providers and No. 3 overall for small businesses online. The Onward Small Biz Web site offers a wide variety of free resources, including small business advice, online courses, podcasts, online seminars and opportunities to ask questions directly to small business thought leaders and experts. IDC has positioned AT&T as a leader in the first "IDC MarketScape: U. S. Enterprise Telecommunications 2008 Vendor Analysis."¹ IDC highlighted AT&T's leadership in Global Enterprise Networking citing AT&T's meshed network technology in the U.S., Europe, India, across the Atlantic and in progress in the Pacific. The independent research firm Forrester rated AT&T as a leader in an evaluation of managed multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) services providers in The Forrester Wave™ Domestic North American Managed MPLS Services, Q4 2008 (October 2008) report. AT&T Wins Four ATLANTIC-ACM Wholesale Metro Carrier Excellence Awards
AT&T Wholesale organization received four 2008 ATLANTIC-ACM Wholesale Metro Carrier Excellence Awards. The awards were based on the results of the third annual Metro Carrier Report Card, which evaluates the performance of metro carriers by their wholesale customers and is based on more than 3,000 individual carrier evaluations. AT&T Wholesale was voted Best in Class incumbent in the following categories: 1) Brand; 2) Data Value; Voice Value; and Network Quality (tie). (October 2008)

AT&T U-verse TV Premieres As Highest Ranked in Customer Satisfaction for Residential Television Service in Three Regions in J.D. Power and Associates Study
AT&T U-verseSM TV ranks highest in customer satisfaction among residential television customers in three regions: North Central, South and West, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Residential Television Service Provider Satisfaction StudySM. In the annual study of television service, customers evaluated AT&T for performance and reliability, customer service, cost of service, billing, and offerings and promotions. (October 2008)

AT&T Receives Chairman's Award from RadioShack
AT&T has received the Chairman's Award from RadioShack Corporation, an honor given to the best-of-the-best of RadioShack's vendors. AT&T is committed to delivering the best wireless products and services through RadioShack's approximately 4,500 company stores. AT&T, which began a 10-year distribution agreement with RadioShack in 2005, offers wireless phones, accessories, and service, as well as broadband services, through RadioShack stores. AT&T also offers specialized marketing, distribution and field support for RadioShack. (September 2008)

BusinessWeek magazine has once again named AT&T Inc. as one of the "Best Places to Launch a Career," based on feedback from a wide cross section of career-conscious individuals. AT&T has been included among the Best Places every year since the list's inception in 2006. The Best Places to Launch a Career list is based on three extensive surveys: a poll of 40,000 college students in the United States, of career services directors at U.S. colleges and universities and of the employers those directors identify as the best for new graduates.BusinessWeek surveyed 119 finalist companies based on pay, benefits, retention efforts and training programs, and then it compared responses with other employers in the same industry. According to Gartner, "this Magic Quadrant assesses suppliers of cellular-based wireless and mobile enterprise voice and data networking solutions in the U.S. This includes cellular voice, low and high speed data services (provided over wide-area cellular networks) and remote-access services. For the fourth consecutive year, AT&T BusinessDirect® has topped the list of telecom carrier customer Web portals in an annual benchmark study conducted by Yankee Group. In a review of portal offerings involving several carriers, AT&T BusinessDirect was the only portal to receive Yankee Group's highest rating across the categories it evaluated. (June 2008)

AT&T Earns High Marks in Small Business Services Report from Leading Market Research Firm
In recognition of its strategy to provide small businesses with the same high level of service as larger enterprise customers, AT&T was rated favorably in a comprehensive analysis of wireless carriers by leading telecommunications consultant IDC. The report, "Worldwide Mobile Operator 2008 Vendor Analysis: Best Practices in Serving the SMB,1" indicated that IDC looks to AT&T to emerge as the leader in the U.S. in the mobile small business space during 2008. Survey Says AT&T Web Site Ranks First in Online Customer Satisfaction
In the survey conducted by comScore, a global Internet information provider, AT&T's Web site took the top spot in every site experience category, including: overall satisfaction, ease of use and visitors' likelihood to return to the site and recommend the site to others. The site also took top honors in online satisfaction with page-loading time, site security, search capabilities, the availability of promotions and navigation and site organization. Overall, visitors said they were more satisfied with www.att.com than any other site included in the survey. (February 2008)

AT&T Receives Technology & Engineering Emmy Award
AT&T was awarded a Technology & Engineering Emmy Award by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. AT&T received the award for its invention of coaxial cable technology, which delivered the first broadband transmission medium nearly 75 years ago. Coaxial cable ultimately was deployed around the world to enable transmission of large volumes of voice calls and video content. The coaxial invention is one chapter in a long history of innovation at AT&T Labs, which includes thousands of patents issued or pending worldwide and has a heritage that has produced seven Nobel Prizes.
