Netscape Viewing Instructions

If you are using Netscape as your browser, use the following steps to view the documents.

  1. After clicking a document link, the following dialogue box appears:

    Click the "Pick App..." button

    Note: To save the document without opening it, click the "Save File..." button and follow normal saving procedures.

  2. After clicking the "Pick App..." button, the following dialogue box appears:

    Enter the path where your Word application file (winword.exe) can be found. For example, "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office"

    If you are unsure about the location of the application, you can click the "Browse" button and search for the viewer or see your system administrator for assistance.

    Note: This viewer identification procedure is only required to be performed once. Each time thereafter, after clicking a document link you will automatically begin with Step #3.

  3. After the document viewer has been identified, the following dialogue box appears:

    Mark the button to the left of "Open It" and click "OK". The MS Word application will automatically open and display the document. Or...

    To save the file, mark the button to the left of "Save it to disk" and click "OK". Continue with normal saving procedures.

    Note: To eliminate this dialogue box and have the documents automatically open in MS Word, uncheck the box to the left of "Always ask before opening this type of file."
